Qubool Hai

Zoya Farooqui is an orphaned NRI from New York who travels to Bhopal after her adoptive sister and brother-in-law arrange her marriage with a man named Anwar. Zoya flees the venue when she learns that Anwar's family are members of a prominent gang. She decides to locate her biological father in Bhopal, and her brother-in-law arranges for her to stay with his family friend, Dilshad Ahmed Khan's family. Zoya concludes that Asad, Dilshad's son, is an old-fashioned chauvanist and the pair constantly argue over their strikingly different personalities. Asad's younger sister Najma enjoys Zoya's presence and her bubbly attitude. In a parallel story-line, the joint-families of Gaffur Ahmed Siddiqui and Rashid Ahmed Khan, Dilshad's former husband and the father of her children, are shown; Shireen, Gaffur's sister and Rashid's second wife, is also the mother of his children Ayaan, Nighat and Nuzhat. Humaira, Ayaan's love interest, is the only child of Gaffur with his wife Razia. It is soon revealed that Razia murdered Zoya's mother Zeenat, who was Gaffur's first wife. Razia had framed Rashid for the crime and blackmailed him into divorcing Dilshad. Meanwhile, Zoya and Asad fall in love with each other, and Asad proposes to her at the airport to stop her from returning to New York. He initially attempts to disguise his affection, but later succumbs to his feelings for her, and Dilshad arranges for them to be married. Tanveer Baig, Asad's childhood friend, is introduced as an antagonist who desperately tries to separate Asad and Zoya, as she wishes to marry him for his wealth. She also works alongside Razia to prevent Zoya from discovering that Gaffur is her father. Amidst their attempts, Zoya accidentally marries Ayaan and has to live with him for a month, much to the chagrin of Asad. Najma is happily wed to Imraan, who also happens to be Nuzhat's former fiance and, unbeknownst to her family, the father of Tanveer's unborn child. In spite of Tanveer's blackmailing, Imraan reveals the truth to Najma, whom he loves dearly, and she forgives him. When Tanveer attempts to murder Zoya, she is sentenced to prison. Rashid, shortly before he dies, decides to return to Dilshad; this causes Shireen to leave alongside Ayaan, leaving Humaira heartbroken. She finds love with a man named Haider and the two settle in America. After Zoya and Asad's marriage, Zoya finally learns that Gaffur is her father and initially refuses to forgive him for abandoning her but eventually does so. She becomes pregnant and gives birth to identical twins, Sanam and Seher, shortly after Najma gives birth to her mute daughter Haya. Three years later, Tanveer returns to the household and in a fit of rage, murders Asad and Zoya, along with Gaffur and Najma, losing her eyesight in the process. Dilshad manages to escape with her grand-daughters, however she misplaces Seher, and is forced to leave for Punjab with only Sanam and Haya.
